Who Are We?

Who Are We?

We are Todd and Mairin - after an adult gap year full of backpacking SE Asia and living in a campervan for seven months touring around Europe, we decided to try a permanent life abroad. Since then, we have lived and taught English in Vietnam, made the transition to online teaching, housesat in eight different countries, and lived in Albania for a year. We are approaching eight years abroad now! We love local history, hiking in the mountains, and lazing by the beach to catch sunsets.

We really enjoyed our visit to Udaipur Palace – We really enjoyed our visit to Udaipur Palace – a historical marvel built in 1559, which took over 400 years to complete! There are several palaces within the complex, all with their own intricate architecture and courtyards. The palace also has amazing views of Lake Pichola. While Udaipur was our favorite spot in Rajasthan, this was definitely the most crowded place we visited. Our tip is to get there early! #udaipurheritage #visitudaipur #historicalarchitecture #lakeviews #okennasodyssey #cultureclub #udaipurpalace #rajasthantravel #discoverindia
When we arrived in Delhi, we knew we wanted to do When we arrived in Delhi, we knew we wanted to do a food tour to experience a variety of the street food the city is so famous for. We booked an evening tour with Reality Tours and Travels and it was fantastic! Our guide was funny and knowledgeable, the food was all amazing (I forgot to take pics of the desserts), and the company is an NGO that works with youth from the slums of Delhi to provide them education and other opportunities.
Highly recommended! #foodtours #realitytoursandtravel #delhitravel #okennasodyssey #foodieparadise #yummyindianfood

Our 2023 recap....we started and ended the year ho Our 2023 recap....we started and ended the year housesitting, went back to one of our favorite Eastern European countries twice, spent another summer on the Mediterranean, explored Rajasthan, and returned to SE Asia. We continue to learn how to be flexible and to let things go if they aren't working for our lifestyle. We did many more tours this year and met some awesome folks - a good reminder we don't always have to explore ourselves! We also had more visitors this year than ever before, which was awesome! Country round-up: 🇳🇱 🇧🇬 🇷🇸 🇪🇸 🇧🇬 🇮🇳 🇲🇾 🇸🇬 🇲🇾. Two new countries this year - India and Singapore. Excited to see what 2024 brings, although we know some favorites we haven't seen since 2018 will be featured. 🌎 #2023recap #okennasodyssey #coupletravels
